So Far I narrowed my list of Detectors down to 6, half of them are Fisher, F75, F70 and the Gold bug Pro.
I'm leaning towards the F75, I know its also the most expensive, but is it the best ?, second choice is a tie between the Gold Bug Pro/G2 or the T2 LTD Black edition.
I'm mostly Relic/coin hunting with a little bit of Gold prospecting and Beach Detecting (dry sand).
I know it better to have a specialist detector for each job. But what would your weapon of choice would be for an all round detector ?

your thoughts would be most appreciated.

Thanks

Need a little more info though for when the real experts show up to answer your post...Where do you live (state), how old are you, and is this your first detector, and what is your general state of health and physical capacity? Seriously, its important for the right answers to come your way, and there may be one of us close that would be willing to help you learn, or even let you try out our weapon. We want you to be very happy with whatever you purchase, and successful in this sport! Theres a lot of us that have our preferences, and this should be a great topic as we get a chance to tell you what we would do in your situation. Me, I'd go with the F70 and the 11"dd! OK boys, pile on!

What kind of detecting do you mainly do and already asked, but also where do you live? HH jim tn

Mud your to funny. I am also interrested in a fisher so this will help me also. Mud , why would you go with the f70?

'Cause that's all I have! It was my very first detector ever, what, 3 years ago or something? Just an awesome fast target generator for me. I have zero experience with the other models mentioned, but theres plenty of other guys here that have either all of them, or experience with them all, and they will pipe up shortly. I don't think a fellow could go wrong with any of the models mentioned if a guy was really seriously committed to finding stuff, but I do know theres mechanical propensities some of them have that make them "better" for specific situations..F70 for all around running and gunning, beaches, dirt, whatever, the adjustability, ergonomics, simplicity and the DELTA PITCH tones are the ticket as far as I'm concerned! I cant hardly hunt without delta pitch...not nearly as fast anyway. Theres fellows here that absolutely kill it with the F5 and F2...so there is enough of a bench of Fisher models for somebody to get the right thing that fits them right out of the gate and will make them an awesome hunter if they make a good team, based upon both the hunters and the machines strengths and preferences.

well if you can afford a f75 special edition its the best all around detector and the t2SE is a great unit also and is a bit cheaper and like mud said the f70 is hard to beat its the lightest of the three and is a great coin machine make sure you have enough money left to buy a garrett propointer and good digging tool good luck

I'm mostly a Minelab user but do have a T2 LTD black and a black F75 SE....I'm a coin hunter and was looking for a light wt loaner unit that was easy to use and also have enough ass for me to use... Ive had the G2 and Omega and found the depth short of something I would use.... I had always heard good things about the T2 LTD so I picked up a nice used one...After using it for a month or so and checking targets with a CTX I found to be close on depth with any kind of a VID I had to be in BP mode which on the T2 is 2 tone.. I found that rather limiting as I'm used to multi tones... So I would detect in 4 tone , when I got something deep I would then switch to all metal or BP to get a VID....Also, I'm some what of a selective hunter and seldom dig anything shallower than 6" at most sites. The lack of a running depth meter was again a hindrance for me... While using the T2 I did dig what was probably my deepest silver dime with any detector in the 11-12" range... I also picked up a NEL Sharpshooter coil as a tweener for the 11 & 5.. Also I let my girlfriend use the T2 and she got along fine until she would take a break, turn the unit off and lose all of the setting....It was at that point I decided The F75 made more sense for me so I picked up a used one....It has the choice of tones in BP mode, a running depth gauge, saves its settings when turned off + has a back light.... I liked the NEL Sharp shooter so I got one for the F75....I'm pretty happy with the F75 but the depth readings are not nearly as accurate as my CTX and I waste a lot of time digging shallow stuff....The NEL Sharpshooter has nearly the same depth as the 11" with a lot less emi and pretty much stays on all the time now.... Also, I find both the black T2 and F75 to be much better with emi than the camo F75 I had back when they first came out...Both the T2 and F75 are fine detectors, just look at the features and pick which ever suits you..... The Omega is a good coin machine also but doesnt have the depth of the T2 & F75 if that important to you.. Thats about all I know about that...wildherre

I was thinking a f75 ltd, but also thinking the t-2se . Does the f70 have a backlite? I may wait to see if there will be a new t2se with a backlite and saved settings.

Thank you for your replies

Just Started reading your post, so just a quick reply on more info needed.

Age 53 married to my partner Sandy, She does most of the work as I use a walker to get around, though we still have small turns with the detector.
We had the AT Pro a little under 2 years ago, my mobility got bit of a setback, so about a year ago sold the AT Pro (Bad Mistake), still have the pro pointer though

but now recovered and a bit healthier again, moving again and what to get back into coin/relic gold and beach detecting, I know I'm asking a lot from one detector.

I now want to buy another detector, instead of buying another AT Pro, I wanted to step up a notch, though going buy most At Pro users, its still one of the best detectors out there.

I live in Melton Victoria Australia, about 70 miles from my old home town Bendigo, Part of the golden triangle, its a fantastic place to search for nuggets.

I'm close to the sea, only about 1/2 and hours away, a bit further if I want to go to Geelong beach, though I'll probably struggle moving around on the sand.

The gold area in the golden triangle is highly mineralised, and most VLF machines tend to struggle, Minelab SD and GPX PI machines are the king gold diggers here.

So in a nutshell, need a machine that can detect smallish nuggets, can somewhat cope with mineralised soil, a capable coin/relic machine,

something with good fast iron separation and something that can cope on the beach or at least dry sand.

Thanks again for your replies I hope the above information will help
I'll get back again to read your kind posts......... Cheers :)

How about a tesoro Vaquero? super light, one 9 volt batt, affordable,as deep as anything, tons of coils available(the cleansweep 3x18 is awesome) and an underated nugget hunter. It can do it all.

Tigercraw. Here's my findings. I got 20yrs on you I have my share of pain a few shoulder surgeries and pt every Tuesday till Oct. I hunt farms in the early spring and late fall otherwise loaded with crops. Okay I have and use a t2se. I believe it has an edge in iron infested fields. I run boost which gives the same tones as 2f on the f75ltd now tones and boost are tied together where as on the f75 you can run boost process with any tone set you choose. Now on the f75 ltd if run je 75 5 and 2f. And have gone over the same groundvas the t2se. But with the Fisher I pulled at lest 6 goddess sounding targets including a deep merc. I guess my suggestion is look for an f75 se. On the form. I saw Elton listed one at a very good price. Also if you come across a t2se. At the right price go for it. Both are verry well balanced. Which for me works. I couldn't swing my fbs detector for more than 30mins without taking a break or quitting for the day. The t2 and f75 somedays 3 hrs. No real fatigue or residual. Pain the next day. Both are super fast and very deep. And I might add If your and you're misses can swing an at pro what a night and day difference you will experience. Good luck. In 2013. HH. Make that wish list a done list. C t
