Last month I sold all of my detectors except on because the hobby was consuming all of my time. I sold two of the high end detectors and I fully intended to get out for a while. I ended up with one detector left, a Fisher CZ6a. I started limiting my hunting to weekends only and only hunting a half a day instead of all day. I stopped driving 80 miles and started hitting local parks again. In the mean time, I bought a super nice XL Pro. I have only had this detector a short time and I have only hunted 3 times with it and every time, I come away more amazed! I started out digging borderline hits and I quickly realized how accurate the meter is. I had a hard time finding nickles until I found that a nickle would lock onto the "N or i" of the word nickle. In 6 hours of hunting with the Pro, I have found 10 wheats, 3 silver dimes, and 2 silver war nickles. Also there were probably 60 or 70 clad coins. One of the wheats is a 1909 VDB, not an "S" though. Most of the older coins were 6 to 8 inches deep. The great thing about is I drove minutes instead of hours and metal detecting seems fun again. I now own two of the BEST detectors ever made, the Pro and CZ6a. I am a huge fan of meters and dials. In the future, I want to try one more dial detector, the Nautilus. Back to the basics for me. R.L.
