Hi to All! My goodness, what have I done? I have a used CZ6a on the way and sort of have high expectations!? Over the years I have used and tried many machines/brands, but for some reason passed Fisher up. Now that I know more about metal detectors/theory, I concluded that a CZ was the perfect machine for my detecting style. Too bad the old Fisher RL is gone, but this is a chance to convert me!
The CZ I purchased comes with the 8 and 10 inch coils. I sure hope I can still get a smaller coil and that this CZ is a "Faster" machine? Sometimes I cant stand the slowwww swing of my Sov XS or some pulse units! I intend/hope to use this CZ as my main land machine, but also chest mounted at Caribbean saltwater beaches and hopefully with salt mode off. In the deeper water I use Excaliburs and have found much gold. But I have yet to find smaller ladies rings with diamonds! My thinking is that perhaps Excaliburs do not have the sensitivity to pick up such smaller rings at depth. I also wondered if a CZ20 could, since salt mode is always on? But I am sort of watching for a good used 8 inch CZ20 too.
I am hoping the CZ6a will nail deep targets in ankle to waist deep water, where I believe those ladies rings might be hiding? Any thoughts? Would 8 inch or a smaller coil work better for this shallow surf application? Thanks, CC.
