Just bought an AT Pro for the second time

After a very bad experience with my first AT Pro (leaking) after 1 1/2 hours of use, I sold it, I have waited for a year and followed the forums about the leaking problems being addressed. I now believe the newer AT Pro units don't have the leaking problems the older units had. I really like the AT Pro, but will use it in freshwater most of the time in chest deep water when not using my Tiger Shark in certain situations. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping for the best.

Best of luck!

Only to buy another one six months later. I really didn't give the first one a chance. I was using another brand as my go-to detector and was satisfied with its performance. Additionally, the ATP seemed to have a confusing amount of squeeks and squeals and I just didn't take the time to sort them out. However, something led me to give the ATP another go...I'm glad I did, because it's now my main machine. All those confusing sounds now make perfect sense and I'm enjoying the machine. I just go the 5"x8" Proformance coil; it's light, compact and very accurate. Garrett has a winner in this series!

Thanks for the reply. At least I don't feel like i'm the only one that has done this. My other 2 water units are my main guns, I just have a few swimming holes that are super trashy and think the ATP would do great there.

mine it stared to leak after 4 hours sent back to Garrett they fixed it no more leaks a year later.I think the newer ones are lots more water tight.

Thanks for the reply and info.

I too had the AT Pro when they first came out.

I'll have to admitt that I also sold mine and did not
give it a fair chance. I purchased several other
detectors in between - sold those too!

I kept the Compadre and won't sell it :) !!

I'm also getting a AT Pro again and it will be
my main detector.

The AT Pro offers alot of bang for the buck
and when I get mine this time around - it
will be a keeper too!

Those are my feelings also. I feel I didn't give the AT a fair chance because I lost confidence in it because it leaked right out of the box. Won't do that this time.

Thanks, Darryl
