Just bought a M-6

The first thing would be to get a smaller coil for it. I use a 5.3 Eclipse and really like it. Some prefer the 4x6 elliptical. With the stock coil and the smaller coil you should be able to effectively hunt most sites. I run mine with no discrimination and tone ID on. Good luck with that new machine.

Your gonna love the M6. Be sure and ground balance before you start. I try to run as little disc as possible with tone ID and as high sens. as possible and keep it stable, but I hunt in some pretty trashy areas and with too little desc. it can sound like a real bad heavy metal band. I use the 6x10 DD coil about 90% of the time and get excellent separation in trash. In extremely trashy areas and in tot lot play grounds around the equipment I will use the 4x6. Learn VDI numbers and depend on them more than the visual ID. With the small coils slow you sweep speed way down and stay low. Hope this helps.

If you like to hunt clad and jewelry in the sports fields, the Bigfoot will pay for it's self in short order Jim. A must have in my book.
