Just another walk in the park.

Well I took a walk in a new spot this weekend and improved on last weeks performance by about $2 and a couple of damaged silver rings. Looks like opal in one of the rings. Since widening my scope on the dial so to speak I have been getting a few more cool hits and alot more clad which is great. The stock coil as usual proved its worth and worked a treat in very wet grass. One spot in particular yielded $5 from the same hole...............I love micro caches!:detecting: All in all $29.90 and some silver for two and a half hours detecting. ( The strange large coin is a plastic one)
Cheers!

That is a bunch of $$ Where are you located? You must have dollar coins? In any event good hunt, Beale.

That was a good day of detecting nugget71. How did the damaged silver ring sound and show on the display? Also if you don't mind me asking how deep was it?

Thanks,
Dave

Could it be, that you folks are carrying a lot of coins in your pockets?
I am asking, because I don't think you can find that much coins in a German park, even if you are detecting the whole day.

Not much coins in our pockets......it's all on the ground. Thank god for pockets with holes.

The ring came in as 32-34 on the display...........at the time I was thinking screw cap as they come in on similar numbers mainly 34, but I have dug $1 coins with a 34 reading also but 90% of the time when I see a 34 I roll my eyes  because I automatically think screw cap. It was shallow at about 3" and it was a nice double beep every time I passed the coil over the target. The other ring has a big crack in it and came in at a similar depth but a solid 30 on the display not to far from the first ring. I must say it was a great days detecting and when you have days like that you just don't want to stop.
Cheers!

]Hi all, I too am just learning 70. I've had several Minelabs including 3 Sovereigns and an XS. However due to advanced age having a much lighter machine and a meter to help decrease knee time (getting back up is not as easy as it once was) seems like a good idea! I have a heavy use park near me but unfortunately a lot of buried electrical cables to power vendors displays during concerts. Noise cancel helped some but still a lot of false signals. I don't know if any other settings might help or if it's going to be a game of patience over wits!!!

even when I had the Exp II it did the same thing. Electrical wire under ground is a nightmare but in some cases after noise canceling and setting up the detector into the right mode for the job what I have done with some small success is to lift the coil slightly higher then normal on these occasions. It doesn't work all the time but sometimes even that one special find can make all the difference. It is hard to swing with the coil higher up off the ground so I usually make the rod shorter to help.
Cheers!
