Just added the MXT to my arsenal.

Hi there everyone! I'm in Ontario Canada so no detecting for another 2 months thereabouts.
I'm actually a Minelab Explorer SE guy but just bought a MXT 300 to fill a nitch in my detecting style. On occasion I like to hit the parks and sports fields for some Canadian clad and perhaps the odd gold and silver ring. The Explorer doesn't care much for our new Canadian clad but a buddy has been using his MXT for clad hunting and has been doing quit well.......so here I am. I also picked up the 6x10 and 4x6 coils as the Super 12 is just too big for what I have planned. I also got the MXT Edge book and boy it really opened up my eyes as to what the MXT is capable of. The multi mode is interesting.

Anyway lots of good reading here which is a good thing since outside it looks like the north pole.

The Minelabs are good on silver here, but I have found more jewelry with a MXT and M-6 than with a Explorer...
Read the manual and Jeff's book and there is lots of help on this forum...

I don't know why you don't get out and hunt, John in Edmonton Hunt's in the winter, he even hunts at night in the winter.
He even has a friend that hunts at night...I thought it got cold up there.

Good luck with your new MXT.

Hi Dave, I'm sure you're going to love the MXT for coins and jewelry. It's a wonderful machine and sounds like you're ready to hit the snow.......oh I mean dirt. Soon maybe. Welcome aboard and HH, Nancy

You'll enjoy the MXT and you've made a very good choice in coils. The 6X10 is on mine most of the time, but in heavy trash the 4X6 is near surgical.

Good group of folks here Crusty. Lots of help if you need it but knowing you, you won't have any problems once you get used to the MXT. Happy hunting.

I don't get out much in the winter either.
Here in Indiana the ground is frozen soild.

There are a few slopes where people go snow boarding so maybe
you might search a few hillsides that look like people have been
slideing/boarding.

A couple guys here go out frequently, also some guys at the Garrett forum.

They always seem to find something.
Your going to love the MXT.

The MXT is my favorite detector so far. I may try some other detectors but I dont see me getting rid of my MXT anytime soon.
