Anyone here use the Delta 4000. If so I would like to hear the good and bad things of this detector. Been thinking about getting one. Thank you, Ron

Ive been swinging it every day for 3 months now.
Using the stock 8 inch coil but thinking about a 5 inch coil for some of the trashier areas that i hunt

What i like
3 modes of search
A1 ,, all metal mode with a wider search field
A2.. all metal mode with a more defined search field ( i seem to use this one allot)
and discrimination mode
Very light weight and balanced nicely
Pinpoint feature is precise ( my holes are getting pretty small )
discrimination settings are independent from all metal to discrimination and remain set until unit is turned off

If swung properly, you will be able to here trash next to a good target ( i hope the 5 inch coil makes it even easier )

What i don't like.. pretty chatty around power lines or when the cell phone goes off on my belt ( not to big of a deal, it lets me know the phone is ringing :wiggle:)

Ground balance is fixed ( i wish i had control of it ) this would probably make the machine more accurate

Depth: found a claw hammer head yesterday in the backyard at 17 inches
I haven't found any Deep coins yet, most are in the 1 to 5 inch depth honestly ( this may be because i haven't passed over any deep ones yet ( we'll see )
Air Test on a Nickle is about 12 to 13 inches but week

It wouldn't be quite so chatty if you Turn your cell phone OFF with these new fisher and Teknetics its one of the worse things you can do while detecting. HH :detecting:

Thats for sure... sometimes i turn it off and leave it in the truck!!!!:beers:
