My Nephew works at Racetrac, and the other day a kid came in and bought a large drink and paid with a 1987 American silver eagle dollar.I just know some parent somewhere will be fuming when they find it missing lol....

LOL..........reminds me of a true story at a local arcade I frequented in the 1980's. The owner told me that he emptied the coinbox from one of the machines........what did he find.............a whole collection of standing liberty quarters.....including a 1916 Standing Liberty quarter in excellent condition..........look up the value of that one...........talk about a severely p*ssed off parent.

One of the perks for him he's always checking the change he's got a decent little collection of silver coins I've almost got him convinced into buying a MD to be my partner.

My daughter's first job was at the local McDonald's. One day a tweeker came in with a hand full of pre-1965 silver US quarters and used them to buy a burger, fries and drink. The young employees working there thought they were fake because they looked different and almost rejected the sale. The tweeker said he got them from his grandmother's house.

I got a standing Liberty quarter in change at the local Winco several months ago. I actually get better old coins in change than I do metal detecting by a ratio of about eight to one.
