Just read a post on another forum where someone thought they saw gold as they approached their vehicle to leave. They forgot they had set their whites mxt down and did not put it in the vehicle. The sound of it crushing as he drove away was heard next. Also the item he eye balled was not gold!

He posted three pictures of the crushed detector. What I found strange though was the reactions of a few fellow th'ers. A couple decided to make fun of him and make very dumb remarks! Well lets all be careful where we set are detectors down this summer. I usually do not wish any ill will against anyone, but lets just say my thoughts about the insulting responses of a few....left me thinking....

I have laid headphones on top of my van as I was putting the equipment away. As I drove out the parking lot and onto a street a rolling sound atop the van caught my attention. As I looked in my rear view mirror I saw the headphones fall to the ground...then crushed by another motorist.

I have had a couple of occassions where I left my cell phone on top of the van as I was putting things away. There is no way to explain how I felt as I had to back track to where I started from looking for the cell phone then since it wasn't there driving slow with 4 way flashers going to hopefully find it along the curb. Found it and swore it would never happen again.

Then after putting equipment away at a wooded area recently, got in the van and decided I'd call the wife to tell her I was on the way home.
Cellphone was not on my belt. Not on the floor in the back and not in with the other equipment. Spent and hour backtracking as best I could through the woods hoping to catch a glimpse of the phone in the grass. Gave up and went back to the van without the phone. Once I get back to the van I see the phone on top of the van.

OK that does not make me stupid..it makes me human...to err is human. If there is someone who has never done anything stupid....his turn is coming sooner than he thinks.
