Ok, I got a question but it is not a gb/g-2 question per say...
Am I correct that Dave J designed the GB/G-2,the Diablo umax, the GMT and the LST ?
How about a Dave J detector forum ?

White's MXT. He's had his fingers in the mix with some other models, but of all he's provided us my favorite early nugget shooter was the 'original' Fisher Gold Bug.

My next favorite nugget hunting detector, and possibly still my favorite (if I can find another clean specimen) is the Tesoro Diablo

Thanks Monte, I was not sure I had understood how much he had actually done. I am no brand whore....I just like the detectors I like and some brands have great service to boot. My Diablois currently in for a tune-up. But I am hoping that the light gb pro will succeed where I have failed with the diablo and gmt to figure ou where to fig with better understanding of the readouts. As well as doubling as a coin and ring shooter....

When I started reading a lot of the write-ups done by Dave Johnson I was very pleased to note that he also liked the Diablo

Hi ya Monte.
I caught your last post and noticed you are still around the P-town area?
So I have a question on beach hunting the Columbia river and our local Coast. You mentioned that our beaches are difficult becuase of the
high mineral content. My question is how our beach mineral content compares with the South West British Columbia area?? Fraser river and Pacific coast. I have a friend there and we talk about mineralization and specific detectors. I just want to know/have a point of reference so that when we talk I have a better understanding of how a detector will perform for me here in Portland on the Columbia and at Sea Side, Or.
Thanks Monte, Phil

Both the Columbia and the Fraser originate in British Columbia west of the Rocky Mountains, there is lots of iron in it from the same type of volcanic rock formations.
