Well, I opened my big mouth and said that a slow sweep speed was the answer-then read another post where a brisk sweep speed got the depth....so. Went out again and it looks like the brisk sweep speed does get a little better depth. Many of the coins were at 3-4"-and I found a silver ring, a copper ring, and a junk ring. Found the flashlight-key combo-raised the coil about 8-10" and still got a loud signal-so I said "trash". The tone was so pure I decided to dig and touched the key at 2". Finally, after a couple of hours, I decided the key factor was coil overlap-duh. So now I hunt with the small inner coil as a guide for coil overlap. Not very interesting post=thanks for looking.

that good info some one may not no that thanks for posting

Sorry to be so stuck on this-but a more correct statement would be that the Tracker's sweep-speed sensitive-this after a couple of months use. Some of the deeper stuff is no more than a "cluck" when going fast and the nickels a scratch. Sometimes slowing down to reckeck makes them clearer. So checking the signal both ways-fast and slow helps. And although not totally accurate, north and south, then east and west. Just sayin'.
