I recently hunted with a friend who was using a T2. We were hunting a field. He got a strange signal and wanted to see what my DFX showed. I got a consistent +94 and high pitched non-warble tone. That is sometimes deep iron and on ocassion deep silver. at about 14-16" He brushed away the dirt and bang the shiny silver of an 1800's half dollar. his detector gave an iffy signal like mine but it shows it finds coins. A Minelab would have probably found it just as well and probably a few other brands. i have been beaten in button #'s by a cheap Bounty hunter and found good stuff in areas scoured by Minelabs. i have also and scoured areas and minelabs picked up stuff I had missed. i have only recently been able to try a few other brands than Whites and some impressed me and some did not. It was fun tho and alleviated "the grass is always greener with a better detector syndrome" I'd say try another brand if you like and if you don't like it trade it. if you don't want to risk the investment, try hooking up with a dealer or buddy who has one and field test it. As for the XL Pro. I have used the classic and IDX Pro and been very happy, and like the ease of use and lack of interference. Try setting the disc to just under preset ring or even lower if hunting woods, that will get you an extra 2-3" Have a good one!
