Hi everyone, I am wanting to add 1 more to the collection, am between the T2, and a Minelab X-Terra 705. ---- Does anyone here have experience with both? Looking for "seat of the pants" feelings. Thanks in advance, TTF

I have used both, similar performance. I think the dd coil on the t2 is a better performer than most of the coils for the xtera. Also I didnt like the headphone jack location on the minelab. And i personally believe the target separation is better on the t2. btw, I no longer own the x70 ;)

ive used the xt70 and in my soil conditions i foud the t-2 has about an 1" atvantage, lighter and more comfortable to swing, i do like the xt but the t-2 just feels natural to me in its operations

I have used both extensively and both are very good detectors. Depth is close, but I would give the edge to the T2. I have mineralized soil and the x70 was not very good until I got the 7.5 DD coil. With that coil in my soil, it was great. Both get great battery life and if you are going to do any gold hunting, the high frreq. coil for the x70 is a factor. I don't relic hunt, but the T2 shines there. I found the T2 to be a great coin detector. As a matter of fact, I liked the T2 better than the F75 when it came to coin hunting. The T2 did not have a small coil when I owned it and that is the reason I traded it off. I would not hesitate buying another T2. I made many great finds with the x70, but in a close call, I would go with a T2. Only my opinions based on what and how I hunt, that is coins, with occasional jewelery. R.L.
