Well, back into the junkyard in the hopes of gold or silver...thought you all might like to see some actual scoop photos of what comes up in a scoop..[attachment 291212 iron1.jpg] and the settings I'm running in here..

As you may imagine, the signals are very tough and masked by this amount of iron, so anything that is out of the norm is scooped, notice where the sens is set? ....[attachment 291213 iron3.jpg]

It was a great morning to be out, warm and flat water, who can resist a cut like this?[attachment 291214 iron2.jpg] Especially if you are running a Pro!..[attachment 291215 iron4.jpg]

Got some modern coins in here I think...have not reviewed the finds yet..ANYTHING slightly out of the normal tones is scooped in a mess like this..its really an overload place on the ears, only good for short bursts of effort.[attachment 291216 iron5.jpg]
Mud.

Something good is going to come out of there Mud. Might as well be there as anywhere else. The odds for good look promising. HH jim tn

It looks like you're getting warm, Mud! Plenty of human activity, hope there was one who lost another jumprope-sized gold chain!

Wonder it U took the beep & dig machine and got some of that junk out of there. Sort of pave the way for the Pro.

Good looking spot! Me and a buddy hit the Red River today, but did so with fishing poles instead of a detector.

I'm going to have to give water-detecting a try.:detecting:

Nice post mud. The nastiest places often hide nice keepers for those who can adapt. That's been working for me as well .
HH!

Nice pics, thanks for posting up. I have very little water hunting experience and this was interesting.

Nice spot, and I can sympathize with the amount of "junk". Low and SLOW! Hey, what is that arrowhead-like thing?

aj

thanks boys!
Hey Ajaj..thats one of those cheap necklace metal arrowheads...I will say I have been impressed with how the Pro handles this place..with this much iron especially, I have come to trust whats its saying on account of pictures like that one scoop shot with a tab, spoon, and the rest nails, thats an honest shot of a typical scoop in the iron heavy portion of this place...I got another merc out of here just the other day.......Im getting to know the Pro's language concerning size and depth an nearly composition of target from the subtle changes of tone volume, strength, scratch, etc...so this place is sort of a classroom for rapidly condensing the learning curve...i figure someday I'll need what I learned in here for the BIG find (gold coin) in either this location, or another too trashed out old dirt that nobody wants to hunt....anyway, this is the trashiest place the closest to home that also holds silver and gold,

you guys that have not tried water hunting yet, it will sure be fun to watch your excitement when you do! You get into some stuff that nobody else will ever find on account of its under water..'specially gold. You find an old swimming hole and hit that creek at low water late this summer and see, or find an inland swimming hole pond or lake..its easy, you dont have to kneel down all the time!
