Junk Rings Can Look Good

Treasure Mike

New member
Found these in the last couple of weeks. When I first dug these up I thought- WOW! and then reality kicked in. Oh well. a few good thrills for a few seconds. Mike

Oh, by the way these rings registered in the high 70's on the VDI meter, just like a silver ring. It must be that the plating on them is a high conductor like silver. If that yellow gold colored ring had been real gold it would have been in the high 20's or in the 30's on the VDI meter.

Boy Mike, isn't that the truth!! I've found more than my share of heart stoppers that ended up being junk. Sometimes, when the piece appears to have real promise, it's really a let down. I've almost got enough gold plated stuff to retire on if it were the real deal. Oh well, it keeps us looking!!

HH,

Dan
