Junk buttons?

Besides the American Airlines button which is just cool, the rest look like junk. The big sport-coat looking button with the "P" on it has the same stamp on the back as the AA button, but I can't read either yet until I clean them up.

If I'm not mistaken the 13 stars is a early to mid 20th century U. S. military uniform button.

The "P" button is a stock (generic) pattern supplied by various button makers for use on police uniforms. Can't quite make out the backmark. The same design has been around at least since the late 1800's and is still being produced today. Here's a link to one made by the Waterbury Button Co.:

Waterbury also makes an American Airlines button similar to the one you found:

Tn. Rocks is right on target with his ID of the small, stud-backed button with stars. It's listed by the U.S. Army Quartermaster Corp as "Buttons, Tack, M-1941."
Best of luck,
Buckram
