I've been want to find a 3 cent nickel for a long time now, I've found 2 silver ones but this is my first nickel one. It VDI'd 8 and was very deep in a hammered park on the other side of town. I was using the D2 and I don't think any other coil I have would have found it. Too bad about the punch holes but them are the breaks, I'm still very happy with this find. Since I bought my D2 coil it's opened up all them spots that have been hammered. I remember the first time that I went out with the coil early this year, the spot that I was at had sounds I'd never heard before.

Very VERY nice find Larry. The holes in the coin gives it character. Oh if it could talk........... And nice to see you on the forum. Nice finds all around! HH to all, Nancy

great find giant! were you running the gain maxed out and little disc? and what size d2 was it?

I was running the gain at +1, couldn't go any high cause there was some EM interference, if I could have I would have had it maxed out. The D2 coil is identical to the stock coil that comes on the White V3, it's a 10" round DD coil. I bought it in December last year but wasn't able to use it till the snow melted in February and the first time out I knew it was going to tear up my super 12 which it does on my MXT, the 12 goes as deep or maybe a little deeper but no where near as good on VDI and depth as the D2, the D2 is unbelievable for pinpointing and just as light as a stock coil, I can hunt for hours on end with no fatigue whatsoever.
