I traded my Etrac for a V3i. I had the Etrac since Christmas and was very happy with it. It is a super machine. However, I've always been curious about the V3i and made a trade. Ironically the Etrac doesn't have that many adjustments available while the Whites has many. I loved my Etrac but look forward to learning the Whites.

The Etrac makes you a good metal detector but I think the whites will teach me more and make me a stronger detectorist.

We shall see. Stay tuned.

They are definitely different animals. Welcome and I wish you luck.

If they are gold try to get information on the pieces. Like approx. weights and karat. With this information the forum can provide an approximate vdi# that will greatly facilitate recovery.

Just dig it all, or at least all the positive numbers.

When you learn the "V", you will understand a whole lot more about how 'tectors work.....knowledge - the key to success!!
