Joining the ranks of the Elite

Sovereign Elite that is.. Bought a used Elite off of craigslist with accesories for a good price (I think). It has never
been to the beach and looks to be in good shape comes with the 550 meter.

I also have an Excal so it should be some what similar but could use tips for the first time user. I hunt beaches (summer & winter)
and parks (spring and fall) some are very trashy. I've read many post on the GT,but don't see to many on the Elite.Hope I made a good choice.

All tips greatly appreciated.

Thanks and HH

MD,probably not much of a learning curve with you being a Excal user.My suggestion pickup a S-1 probe,I've always thought someone without a good probe misses a lot of the deep silver. The Elite is a great detector, you should do well.Good Luck Ron

iv owned 6 GT's and 5 Excal's...and none of them are as deep as this Elite iv had for 5 years.i just hope nothing ever goes wrong with it so i have to send it in for repairs and Minelab screw up the internal settings! next to it the GT is top's for me.

i've owned an elite for about 2yrs and use it mostly on the wet sand it's found me about 40 rings(gold silver copper)this year alone. i'm not saying it's the best beach detector i'll ever buy but if i was forced to sell it i would only replace it with another elite

Thanks, For the replies should arrive on Friday, maybe do a little wet sand hunt on sunday to break it in. Now I will need to
learn the number on the meter.
