After waiting and watching (this forum) I finally made the jump to a 10by12 sef ..Arrived today noon and on the v by 12:30. Air test and it will hold rx at 15 but with the boost it overloads. It can hold with rx at 12. Does this sound like it is a good coil? I took it to an iron infested beach that I have been working hard with the 5.3. I felt the new coil could handle more gain but no real targets to work with .I and others have hammered this site. I did manage a small stone with what looks like natural gold but I am skeptical . Next went to a local park that has also been worked hard over the years and managed a gold ring (small gold ring) at 6 inches and almost beside it two gold clad blings. Also an Indian that was a surprise. Overall I am quite happy with this coil but if it could be bitter , why not? Another question what coil setting does everyone find most accurate for depth? The 10 dd setting seemed to read deeper that the target. Bill

Congratulations on the gold and glad to hear you like the 10X12. I think I will have to break down and get a white one to replace the black one I have been using ever since they came out. (That was back in the DFX days)

According to Kelly Co they have solved all the incompatibility issues. Like Burlbank says I think I got a good one first time out so I think you will be Good. I think of you and Rob every time I dig a large cent .You Know the 80's that hit hard on the 7.5. I dug 10 of them this afternoon (all those bottle caps.) That park was not right for large cents anyhow. The beach however...I got four large cents on my first three trips there...Now that I have mentioned it I won't see another till next year!!! take care Goldbill
