Well...One of my mates turned me on to a Private school that was first used in 1867...It then became a Military Academy for a short time around 1875...It is now an expensive private school. He had found numerous wheats, a silver ring, and a 1899 "V" nickel...He had not found silver, and today, I think I know why...
I found the Wheatie at 4", but the merc was 7" deep in dry soil...My QXT barely hit on it with the 950 coil and the SENS set at 18...1 bar up and 2 bars wide and really quiet...I started digging, and the ground was loaded with golf ball sized rocks...My hand went numb by the time I hit 6" and the XL-1 said I was close...I knew it was silver when I uncovered her, just did not know what until I got it out of the hole...1937
I do not think his Prizm II with only a 6" coil will hit on the deep silver coins...

Here is the clad and other interesting finds...SR-71 in nickel I think it is shiny metal under the crud...The basketball pin might be gilded...There are no markings...The base metal is zinc I think..It is corroded like a zincoln.

The flattened copper is a 1962...I thought it was a large cent at first...lol
Besides a possible Silver ring...I was the only one to find a silver coin today...1919 wheatie was oldest coin if I remember right...4 of us hunted this area today...Will have to bring the camera with me next time...

HH,

i noticed with my qxt at seven inches it just barely gives a peep when i hit mercs at that depth.it holds two tiny bars everytime i would sweep only sometimes screwcap would pop up. i changed my settings to alert zone seven and it seems to work better to pick up coins at that depth
