I'd like to share with you all an interesting spread of XT 70 readings for jewelry...
Ranges from 4 to 18 are smaller gold items or lower carat gold.
The small chain is an infant size sterling silver anklet. The big white ring is white gold. The items at 4 actually read a 7 on my Quattro.
Ranges 24 to 28 are either larger or heavier gold.
The ring at 28 is solid gold but it is more like a broken ring; its got two ends that overlap.
Ranges 34 to 40 are silver. The 3-ring at 40 is a puzzle ring. Wonder if having three rings together was what actually raised the TID over the others.
Of course this is just a quick comparison done inside my house with the standard coil last night...not the best conditions. For purposes of TID comparison, the Washington Quarter read 42 on my settings. (noise cancelled, autoGB, sens 6, all metal mode, item no more than 2 inches from coil). Where the jewelry readings jump two or three numbers, I placed the item on the lowest TID.
