Currently using a Garrett GTP 1350 but looking at a Safari or Explorer SE Pro..don't want the Etrac, don't need the extra bells and whistles. Not much seperates the Etrac and Explorer SE besides the USB options? I'm in SC looking for old silver, and want to Kill gold/silver jewelry at the beaches!!! Explorer SE Pro? be sure to post your ring find totals!!! and pics if you got some!!

The SE will no doubt fill your need for silver finds. On the beach it picks up tiny targets very well..... ive got a lot of silver jewelry with the SE. Ive gotten several size 3 thin gold rings as well that others may have thought were foil. I think Charles NY's posts show what a SE is capable of. Gold jewelry is there for the finding. Several people i know hunt it differently.... choosing to use a larger coil to cover more beach and pick up the heaver gold.

I've used my MineLab Explorer on freshwater beaches and found a real mix of things- from junk to coins to jewelry. It really nails the coins. It does well with intact rings (gold or silver) but broken rings don't sound as loud (this is probably true with most machines). If you go too fast it can miss some smaller items like earrings. The only drawback to the MineLab on the beach is that you must go slow;however, you will go deeper than many other machines. DIG EVERY TARGET - ESPECIALLY THOSE PULLTAB, NICKEL OR FOIL HITS. HH

Thanks guys!! would you say Charles NY is the guy to ask about jewelry? anyone else you can think of? i want input from all!!!

Explorer SE Pro with the stock Pro coil is KING!

A Great bunch of people for sure..

Man Charles i knew you were racking up the gold on the beach....... those chains arent easy to come by. Ive also seen you getting some of those studs.... takes a lot of patience. Are you mainly beach hunting now?
