Jewelry and coins found without metal detector..........!!?!!

Talked to my brother in Florida today and he said that someone had dumped a pick-up load of trash in the park near the house he is living in! The road has a dead-end and it is used for dumping, but my bro was able to get the license number of the person or persons who did the dumping and gave it to the park care-taker who saw it but couldn't get the license #.

Well, my brother and others were looking through the mess of bagged clothing, small furniture (most broken) and etc. And he found an old jewelry box with markings like from Israel and in it was broaches, necklaces and various jewlery including a pair of pierced earrings with Mercury dimes welded to the studs and a key ring with a mercury dime plus more items including a gold-plated Susan B Anthony Dollar coin, a 1000 bullion note from a foreign land (which he was told was only worth $3.00)! He says there's no markings on the jewelry but they look old and sure look like silver and gold! Some have stones in them, also! I told him to keep them safe and have them checked out by a jeweler or a pawn shop but to make sure they were kept in sight while being praised!

Now. how's that for an unexpected Christmas present. He said another person found a bag of jewelry but didn't know what it contained and someone else put something in his pocket very quickly and don't know what it was either. My brother was careful not to scatter the bags of clothing, but others were dumping them all over the place and now he has a mess almost in front of his house! He's hoping it gets cleaned up soon! I wish I could see what he found....Ya know curiosity killed the cat and I sure am curious!!

He says someone cleaned out an apartment or house and disposed of the junk, but it sounds to me like a collection of coins & jewelry that a person was saving!!

God Bless!
Betty
