jetco huntmaster my first

When i was 10 yrs old i got this for Christmas.I found alot of coins and good stuff with it.just one tone bfo but i was a happy camper.

I had one of those when I first started detecting. It was the "Jetco Mustang" We've come a long way, haven't we? By the way who was the inventor who put the Jetco line out in those day's?

The GTX Huntmaster was one of the better models Jecto made, One can tell the GTX was well built. I agree I too would he a happy camper having the GTX.

My first Jecto was the Mustang and still have it, Later on picked up two of the advanced BFO models the big metal lunch box type these were extremely smooth running for a BFO in fact still have one of these. It's the Gold Star BFO-1000 Professional model, she's heavy compared to my old Mustang and even compared to your GTX Huntmaster.

Take your GTX out for another spin, bring back those old happy camper days

First machine for me was the Relco Coin Ranger--piece of junk drifted all the time.

Then tried a Jetco of some sort, bought it from a local chain store, returned it. Saw a D-tex ad, rec'd a catalog and bought the Tiny Tex BFO.
Started finding coins left and right

Eventually sold it, saved some some more money, after a year or so was able to afford a White's Coinmaster IV.

My first detector was the Jetco Treasure Hawk BFO I got it when i was 13 back in 1973 purchased from Cabelas catalog through mail....Wow how far we`ve come! I remember those days of looking through the adds in Outdoor life and Field and stream magazines then writing a letter to request a catalog for camping ,fishing and metal detectors.The anticipation of getting a catalog in the mail sometimes was unbearable.I still have many of those old catalogs from Garrett and bounty hunter and Compass and many others. I have many years of eastern and western treasure magazines and others. I was very sad when I found out that Charles Garrett passed away.I seen his machines in the covers of those magazines from the lunch box style to the most recent ones.Jack Gifford founder of tesoro passed away in 2015 too.I followed that company for years and own a couple of their detectors,an older silver sabre plus,a compadre and a cibola...which are great machines.I have a few vintage machines that still work.Good luck in all your digs fellow dirt fisherman! from riverbandit in pittsburgh

My first real detector was the Jetco Mustang, I'm surprised my mom didn't tan my fanny, all the holes I dug in the yard! But I consider myself a better hunter after learning with the Mustang. I have considerably more respect with those who learned with
a BFO detector, or maybe I'm just old as the hills!
