Jesse James Hidden Treasure.

Watched this show again the other night on the History channel thinking it might be part 2, but it was the same program. I thought these fellows were suppose to go back to Kansas again this year and do some more treasure hunting, but maybe they are still working on their search. Talk about digging up the past.:surprised: Kind of made me cringe a little when that guy was rubbing those gold coins with dirty gloves on and putting scratches on them. That hastily made gold bar was pretty coll though. I think I would have crapped my pants if it was me digging up those coins. I'm sure a lot of you fellows saw that show also and I can't wait to see what else they dig up and we'll all be in suspense until it comes on. What a thrill it would be to dig up coins like that and the history that goes behind it. HH.

Wouldn't that be exciting digging up a Gold Bar?????

Got your bags packed? I have dug up several gold rings and etc, but to dig up a gold coin would be the ultimate as far as detecting goes. Just maybe that dream will come true for us one day Elton. LOL and HH.

a dowsing rod to locate the treasure? And they got a strong "hit" from the device pointing in that cave near the river, but no treasure? I didn't know there was going to be a second part. Hope it views soon. I like those treasure shows too!!

I wanna know what they find that they think is a treasure chest.... Where they had to stop diggin with the backhoe!!!!!

I liked the show too, but I have to say after watching the new Chasing Mummies show, I just assume all the History Channel shows are faked. It makes Indiana Jones look like a documentary. Sad.

Everyone has their own opinion Bell. I haven't watched the Chasing Mummies show. We all know that Indiana Jones was far fetched, but I'm hoping that Jesse's treasure story is on the up and up. Maybe we'll find out for sure if indeed there is a part two to the story.

I think we all want to know what seems to be buried when those guys were using that ground penetrating machine. Seems kind of weird that Jesse and his boys would bury something so deep, but then again if it's a chest full of gold coins then the deeper the better huh? Hopefully we'll find out sooner or later.:clapping:

I think that was a different show Dan, but I can't remember the name of the show. Jesse's show was where they had to stop digging with that backhoe supposedly because of the bad weather that was coming and I'm pretty sure they said something about going back there this year and continue their search. Like I told wyohunter99, I can't imagine Jesse and his gang burying something so deep unless it could be a chest full of gold coins, but then again it could be something else that was buried years ago by people unknown. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that these guys will dig up a chest full of gold coins and make believers out of the non believers or at least find some more small caches. Maybe someone should loan them guys a Minelab.:clapping:

I don't trust the media......just think, all you have to do is buy a few gold coins and one bar.......advertise a show that reports "finding" the treasure......have a break point in the show to allow a chance to compare viewing audience ratings to determine if the followup would generate enough revenue from advertisement and proceed with filming.......create a couple of dramatic turnarounds and voila!!! You have a lucrative endeavor!

I've said this before . . . Ron Pastore and his crew are CLOWNS, not professional THer's by any way of the imagination!
As mentioned before, rubbing the coins with dirt on their hands / gloves, not being to immediately tell the difference between a brass and gold ingot, and then they stopped digging 8 feet, . . . EIGHT FEET!! . . . from the "box" because they ran out of money????? . . . give me a break! . . . I think any one of us on here would have hand dug the rest if necessary . . . and then some to achieve the goal!!

SJA

Not second guessing you SJA and it does make you wonder why they gave up so soon if they really felt that there was a chest full of coins down there. Keeps us in suspense I guess and maybe we'll find out one fo these days.

Eddie

But I will say finding a cache of gold coins just before you stop digging only feet away from the motherload does seem like a good way to stir up some investors as that is how they really make money.

I thought it was very entertaining but the cliff hanger ending left me with a bad, reality TV, taste in my mouth. They seemed pretty calm and collected for just having dug a cache of silver and gold coins. Maybe I'm just a cynic.

There were several other questionable "indicators" that were brought to my attention by someone whom I'd consider a True Professional TH er. I won't mention them right now. Maybe someone else will pick up on them if they watch the show again.

SJA :)

I have read all the post on this topic and agree with SJA. Nothing keeps us entertained more than a made for TV reality show. I just do not believe Jesse James and his boys took the time to carve their initials in a rock close to any treasures they buried. I love to see all the equipment they drag along to find the loot but it's still drama. I noticed they used a Garrett hand held machine, I was hoping it was an XS Explorer. I also have a hard time believing they walked on the moon.
