New member
Visiting this area for 2 weeks. has anyone hunted Jensen Beach or Stuart Beach, Florida??

Any opinions??....New at this beach hunting thing, any advice would sure be appreciated:please:

I have and I have found several gold rings this year ( sorry local guys!), Its hunted by about 3 or 4 locals on weekends but as they say you cannot get it all ,especially swinging detectors like golf clubs ? there are lots of small beach parking lots along that stretch of Hutchinson Island , Bob Graham , Tiger Shores etc if you visit enough of them you are bound to get lucky at one one of them .They get crowded at weekends . Good luck .

Dick, I've hunted those beaches for over 20 years. Moved away 10 years ago. Jensen is more of a tourist beach and Stuart is more of a local beach. Lost of good stuff on both.. I'll be down there next week. hh.

Hey Kaiser and Rolling:

Thanks for the feedback and tips. Today I went to Bob Graham Beach for about 3 hours and had a really great learning experience. Found quite a few modern coins, plus the usual bottle caps, sinkers and fish hooks.

Hunted at low tide, but found most up the beach where the high tide crud was collected. Just didn't have any real luck down at the water's edge, as has been suggested. But I'll keep trying.

Sure is different than dirt hunting; scooping is much easier, but walking in loose sand can be tiring when not used to it.
