Jedi Schoolyard Hunt

I went to the local school yard and did pretty good. I found 34 coins for $3.83. I found a Jedi pin, a Hotwheels car and a ring. Well, I don

Cool Badge. I just watched the Star Wars Trilogy (the real trilogy) Friday while recovering from Thanksgiving dinner and drinks. I wish he'd never made those other three movies. Too many innaccuracies. Everybody who played Anakin couldn't act. That's for another board.

65 is rough. Might see that sometime around April here.

My opinion. The ring doesn't count.

Chris[/quote]I'm with you. I was just fishing for an answer from Rosco.

According to my knowledge source (see below) it says nothing about the material the RING is made from.

From Rosco Book Binderpedia.com, the free encyclopedia
Ring is a Germanic word with various cognates (e.g. identical in Dutch and German) for a circular form, object or concept. It may specifically refer to:
Jewelry
Though size and colour may vary by purpose and artistic design, the basic shape is always circular. They can have symbolical meanings and uses, e.g. as insignia.

I think it doesn't count because he didn't find it with his rig. I'm not disputing that it's a ring but it shouldn't count as MD loot. If he had found it in a hole with a coin I might be able to accept it.

I keep things (bills, coins, jewelry) I found without the benefit of my detectors in a big bottle. I plan on cracking that puppy open on January 1 and buying myself something nice.

Oh but on the contrary my friend. Had he not been at that place, at that time with his metal detector he would have never found that ring. We might have to draw some lines here. It is a ring and I don't think there is a question about that. Now the question is does it count towards a find? I say yes because someone lost it, he found it.

IT'S A RING BRO. COUNT IT AS YOU SEE FIT.......:poke:

I considered that. If I found a ring on the floor of the grocery store and somebody asked me what I picked up while shopping would I respond, "Corn Flakes, milk, eggs, and a 14k man's gold wedding band?" I probably would respond like that but would most normal individuals? He was out metal detecting. Hmmmmmm. On second thought I would probably put it in my treasure chest if I didn't have a jar where I keep stuff I find while walking to work.

Funny stuff!

Problem here is I don't buy Corn Flakes. I'm a Wheaties guy. And then I would take the "14k man's gold wedding band" to the service counter and tell them (with my name on it) that I found it, and if it hadn't been claimed in 30 days to let me know. Of course you have to trust that person you just gave it to. Now, it the world of playground bark chips.........I FOUND IT IT'S MINE:yikes:

That wasn't exactly the point. I'd put an ad in the paper and signs on the bulletin board at the market. Plastic rings I'd turn into the service counter.

The sky is blue.
