January & February finds

larbear

New member
These are finds from my January and Febuary fresh water hunts. All finds were made with my old Fisher 1280X Aquanaut. The day I found the WLH, it was the only coin I found that day after 2 hours of hunting. I am new to the forum, want to say hi to everyone, thanks for sharing your photos, stories, tips, and advice.

Really nice....congratulations on the big silver and other cool finds. keep it up and good luck.

YOU have water in Idaho in Jan and Feb that is NOT frozen over???? WOW, must be nice!!! Congrats

Interesting finds there!!

The brass gadget on the left looks like an old cigarette lighter or fire starter of some kind.

Can't quite make out what the medallions stacked on the top edge of the pick, but they almost look like deputy badges of some sort.

Welcome to the forum!!

Looking forward to your future finds too,

CJ

You're right ! It is an old lighter. Is stamped Snap-a-lite on one side and Patent date July 30, 1912 on the other side.

The 4 medallions are aluminun tokens. There was an amusement park right next to the beach where I made these finds. In the arcade, there was a machine where you could print out whatever you wanted on these tokens. Point the selector to the letter or number you wanted and pull the handle. Repeat until you were done or ran out of space on the token. Push or pull a button and your token was dispensed. They all say Good Luck on the reverse side. I think a lot of people threw their token in the lake. I have found about 3 dozen of these over the years. Gives me a good hit on my 1280X, so I dig 'em.

Thanks for looking, GL, HH
