Hi James,
It's been a while since I have PM'd you. You probably read my post on the great service I received from Minelab after sending my XS in for some repair work. I think they did more than what they said they were going to do. The control box I got back looked like brand new and the battery compartment that was attached to it says Explorer II which has the 1/4 inch phone jack on it. Another thing that looked suspicious was the little label that has the serial number on it was kind of wrinkled and makes me think I got a brand new control box. I'm not complaining at all mind you........... I put my battery pack in and went outside and did an air test with some of my silver coins and using your old coin set up..... and I couldn't believe how crisp and clear all the silver coins came in. What ever Minelab did it really seems like night and day now compared to how my old machine sounded when the coil passed over the silver coins. Now, if I could only hunt in some of the soil and great places that you hunt in. I really hope to get together with you one of these days and do some detecting in your area. As long as your area has some quilt shops close by I just might be able to talk the wife into venturing out your way and she'll be happy and so will I. Have you done any detecting on any of the places that you have been researching over the winter months? The wife and I are heading down to Seaside Oregon on Thursday and I hope to find some places to do some detecting. I still haven't heard anything back from anyone about finding the owner of that Rose bowl Ring. I have nothing but time and the longer I can hold onto that ring the more people I can show it off to. Take care and HH.
