James Avery eases my pain

Well I just got back from the coast, Port Aransas, Tx. My back was killing me a week before we even left. There was no way I was going to postpone it though, casue I was ready and hadn't had a vacation in 4 years! This was my first time detecting on the coast, and the water was rough and full of grass. I ended up getting this little James Avery not 10 minutes into my first try, talk about luck! But I'll take luck any day, lol. Didn't find anything else but a fishing lure and just a little bit of clad. I left sore but happy. I love Port Aransas, and would live there if I could talk the wife into it.

That's a fine looking ring and a good mark on it! Hope the back is healing up, that kind of pain can slow you down!

Beautiful argent bling dgruff:thumbup: That sure is a nice silver piece to remind you of your first coastal hunt!

Thanks guys! And Yoda, you are correct. I can always look at my wife's finger to see the ring, to remind me

I found one of his rings a few years back, and after researching what it was worth, it was quite a bit. Nice find and thanks for the great post!

Interesting link, John. I've lived in Texas my entire 52 years and never knew all that. And while I was on the coast, I met a very interesting man named Harry Hickman. Apparently Harry knew the Avery's personally. He told me Mrs. Avery called him to ask if they could have one of James' last birthday parties at his ranch. Talk about a coincidence, lol.
