Jalapeno Peppers..........

Kelley (Texas)

New member
These are some Jalapeno Peppers that I harvested from my bucket garden yesterday. In a few days I will harvest a few Bell Peppers. We are already harvesting tomatoes. A few days ago, a severe storm destroyed a few of my bucket plants and also damaged our fence. We have had some strange weather this year, lots of rain.

I took this picture with my Sony NEX-6 camera and a vintage Minolta MD Macro 50mm F3.5 lens at F8, 1/50, ISO 400, manual focus, Manual Mode, hand held. Kelley (Texas) :)

Wow, this is a great shot, especially when you blow it up.....very colorful and great composition! Glad you were able to save some of your garden. Do you like hot/spicy food? How do you prepare these for adding to food? I like mild hot/spicy but not the extreme....they say it's good for you though.

favorite pepper, the Jalapeno Pepper. It is best to slice the pepper while wearing medical type gloves with the pepper laying on a paper towel. The Jalapeno Pepper is great mixed with ground beef for hamburger patties, or when making scrambled eggs for breakfast. I also like them mixed with black eye peas...so many ways to use them. Thanks for viewing my Jalapeno pepper picture. Kelley (Texas) :)

Love the vibrant colors. Have you ever canned sweet Jalapeño peppers? I use to can them by the pints and my son could eat a whole jar of them at one setting. Oh, they were so good. I don't care for the "hot and spicy" so much but they were pretty darn good. After my son died, I can't eat the Jalapeño peppers anymore because I get an allergic reaction. Now that's strange.

My Mother use to can vegetables, but Debbie doe not know how to do it because her Mother never did it either, they were city folks. Thanks for viewing my Post. Kelley (Texas) :)

The jelly is good too. I bet it's like the sweet canned ones. I should find that recipe. I would always use gloves when making it.
