You know in 38 years of hunting... Ive been skunked before...hunting ... but this has NEVER happened before ,,Getting skunked on not finding any clad or modern coins ...not even one .... But I did have a good day ...I found only 4 coins and they were all keepers..1844 large cent, (my favorate of all coins to find) ,1902 Injun,1920 Merc and a 1926 wheatie..... .. i just cant believe the only coins I found were old ones....not great ones but fun... My question is where are the modern coins at this place ....people have lived at this homested from the 1820 till 2003 ..and no clad ????? why ???
Any way I had fun hunting today ,,,,,,,HH

Nice finds !!

There is no clad because folks nowadays are too busy texting on their phones, playing video games or watching reality TV to actually GO OUTSIDE and sit in the yard. That is my theory ..

It happens on occasion.
Say a place was built 1850s then became vacant say 1950s. Some one else later comes along and rehabs the place and there was little lost between 1950 to present.
I have ran into this before.

Really Nice Finds

well i went back to the same place today ,to hunt and again no modern coins ,,,,,I did manage 3 more older ones and a 44 cal 1860 henry rim fire case with a 41 cal case pushed inside it ..... kinda neat ....a 1926 SL quarter,1930 wheat and a 1931d wheat ....not many finds but beats digging clad !!!!!!.

yes i agree with you on what you said ,i have run it to that situation before too ..... but i know the history of this place and it was continually occupied from 1820 till 2001 .... its got me boggled .....

Call me stinky..... i wouldnt mind being skunked with finds like those, excellent. That place looks like a place we all dream of, clad free.
