I've heard that on the M6, eventhough you have certain targets ............

Can't really say, I normally use factory preset 1. This is just at iron and small foil and iron usually nulls out. The only time that I had to use preset 2 was at an old home site with a ton of trash. I did get some chirps but the M6 has real good target separation in trash, and was able to pull out 4 wheat cents, a 1917, 1919 and 2 1958's and a 1942 P silver war nickel. Mind that all were in a heavy trash site between 4 to 8 inches and I have the 6X10 DD coil. I had gone over this same ground with a Tesoro Deleon and could not hunt it even with the highest discrimination settings. When I purchased the M6, I compared it with the newer technology models from Minelab, Tek and Fisher as well as the MXT and XLT. I almost came away with the xterra 50, but just one to many unknowns with it.The M6 has proven technology of the MXT that seems to be improved upon in the M6. Not a lot of hype like the others but for me it performs as advertised and more. HH

Yes, I found that while i was trying to maximize the sensitivity in multi tone mode i frequently got some low tones beeping in even though they were disc out. I found that by lowering the sens i could reduce the effect. This would happen in auto trac on or off.

Yes its true for ANY metal detector.

Good Targets don't always make a Repeatable 'Good' Response.

Bad Targets don't always call Nulling or Broken Response.

The Detector's Circuit, Frequency, Loop Used all play into it.
