I am really beginning to like this machine. It has sniffed out silver like nothing I have ever seen before. I went to a very hunted out Park today. I was very impress with the CTX 3030. The barber Dime was a good 8 inches deep.I found four quarters. Eight Roosevelt dimes 24 Lincoln pennies 3 wheat back pennies. Three silver dimes.and one sterling silver ring.and I found four quarters.I use the goneHunting program. Seem to like it very well. I like hearing the ferrous metal.

I've had mine since late July 2012. I hit 100 silvers on it last Thursday. 1911 canadian quarter. It's a great machine

OK,so,
I've just recently got back into the hobby after a few years off and really looking at these Minelabs!
Just not sure about the ETrac or the 3030!

I mean is the CTX REALLY more able to sift through the junk and find coins A LOT better than the E-Trac?
I realize you have to become comfortable with any machine but do you guys think the CTX is worth the extra $5 bills or so?

The GPS and waterproofing doesn't really interest me so I was thinking the ETrac BUT if the CTX is really that much better
then I may consider it..

Thanks guys!
Pete

Heck, over 4-5 years being wireless is to me worth the $500 by itself.

Even the wireless is nothing for me. You can do that with any detector nowadays!

I'm talking about the detectors themselves... Target seperation, Discrimination etc etc

Congrats on all the good finds. Gone Huntings program REALLY opens that baby up. Makes the CTX 3030 a BEAST!

Just the great balance of the CTX over the e-Trac is worth 500 bucks over a couple of years. Just buy the CTX, your going to kick yourself if you don't.
