I've got a few "Whatzits" lately...Here are 3 that have me stumped

First one is a about the size/thickness as a V nickle. Appears to be bronze but what do I know for sure. Has a VDI of 79 just one above zinc on my Gamma.

It is reeded on both sides but aboslutely blank otherwise.

The second is a pin-the backside was marked as a maker that did Masonic & Militaria items. They closed shop under that name in 1923 according to Google. Is this just a lapel pin or did something adhere to the face?.

Last but not least-I think I know what it is but just a short line from the 1904 Olypia Washington Record-it mentions The "Gem" burger store where a meal could be had for 5 cents. I believe its a token from that establishment...Anyone ever hear of them??

The standard catalog of U.S. tokens 1700-1900 lists 2 "The Gems". One in Ogden, Utah, and one in Battlemountain, Nev. Sorry- no Olympia.
Perhaps in a later book.

And there is a diffrent "glyph" above & below on the olympia side. Also the star & cent symbols are slightly larger-not being contained by the circle. I will try for a better pick if it matters.

Is there any info to verify if it was a burger place etc??.

Monte replied in another thread there was a 10 cent version also.

Cool find indeed...

Thanks for the help...
Cheers

Hi Darkflight your first find looks to me like it could be an old checker piece. Best of Luck with identifying them.
