Ive found the best way to get leads .....

for Me at least ... I inherited my Moms never met
a stranger gift ... I went to the Insurance co today
gas station and groceries ..the 2 main topics are
the Steelers ( 28-13 PIttsburgh) and the weather..
Every time we talked weather i worked
into the conv.. that i wished the ground would
thaw soon so i could get out ... I got 3 different
leads/references that im going to follow up on

Yesterday my dogs Vet told me to call her neighbor
about her property out in the country

I guess havin a big mouth DOES pay off sometime!!!!

That is my bread and butter. I talk about metal detecting 24 hours a day so it works very well for me. Today I got a good lead on an old dance hall. One more for the "to do" list !

Amen to the Big mouth , open pie hole and ask, or comment about detecting. In my short time detecting , I 've had mostly friends that let me go on their property, but our Mailman Is My best lead . He has been running his mail route for the last 20 years and he knows who owns what property and when it becomes vacant . I have a cool mailman , he loves to talk and comes buy my house for a few beers or more. His biggest problem is that he thinks I can walk onto a property and hunt because it is vacant , but he is aware now that I want just go on a property without permission. So he has started asking people about letting me hunt their property, and I got 3 lots so far . So l go postal

I've gotten leads from state troopers and DNR officers. Helps that I used to work with the police though.
