I've been looking for this ring since New Years....finally found it this morning.

Two days after new years I was contacted by a couple from Atlanta about a ring, family heirloom, that was lost New Years night on the beach. It was lost between the beach area that they were sitting and the route taken from there to the hotel room. They had no idea when or were though. It was in a jacket pocket with some change that was being carried not worn. It was also lost on one of our biggest beaches with a large distance between the beach and the hotel. Talking to them on the phone while I was out there, I had a good idea were to look, and knowing there was also about a dollars worth of change lost with it, I thought it was going to be easy....NOT! Two times out there, nothing! Third time some change and a small, real small, 10k with stones, does not even fit my pinky; 2.2g.
This morning I finally hit an area that had some change(2 quarters,1 dime and a penny) that were scattered in a east/west direction about 3/4 the way up from the beach. Figuring I could be on to something I found the ring about ten minutes later. The ring is a vintage white gold,18k,15 diamond, Lambert bros; an exact match to the description given. It belonged to the husbands grandmother and given to his wife. When I called them this afternoon and said, "Hi,this is Bob in Florida, I got a slow kinda pausing" yeaaaa" and then nothing. So I just said, "Found it!".....Wish I had recorded the next minute of screaming and crying I heard. It's packaged up and on its way home already. Even though I don't ask for a reward, I was assured one is coming....GL ALL
* I was using the XT705 with a HF DD 5x10 elliptical coil.....the 10k was a 12tid/tone just like a pulltab and the 18k was a 4tid like foil.

Nice one in that find. Hope you get something for your efforts:clapping:

Awesome rings!! Your to be commended for what you did:clapping:.
While none of us go out of our way for praise or rewards etc; I hope this story gets into the local (or national)? newspapers to show that we are good honest folk just enjoying a great hobby and do occasionally bring happiness to others like you did in this case! Great job!

awesome recovery and I can imagine the happy screaming and yelling on the other end of the phone!!!!

Good work Bob, you didn't give up. Your determination to help those people benefits this hobby and all of us.

I and many others around here have made themselves available to people for situations like this for years. We can be found through advertisement, word of mouth, groups like lost my stuff, ringfinders, and MD clubs. I just like being able to help someone that asks for it. Recent losses (fresh drops) in most cases are the easiest to find with good directions. I've had good luck in many such hunts. As stunned as people are that you found their lost ring, it's just not that big a deal too me anymore. I've had a couple of local news people contact me through one of my lost and found ads that want to go along on a hunt sometime. Might do that one day, but I would rather it be for a ring that's been missing for years in some ones yard than a fresh drop. Thanks for the comments, GL ALL.

was it found in the dry sand or wet?

That is one very nice looking ring Bob. I can see
why they were super excited when you told them
you had found it. Well done!
