I've been dreaming of getting my hands on some Double D's :detecting:

Minelab was out of the 6 inch DD coils when I bought mine. As soon as it's in I'll have it in my hands. I can't wait! But I'm going to take the 70 to Florida this summer and I thought the 10.5 x 7.5 kHz coil would do better on the beach than the 10.5 x 18.75 kHz? Would this be true? Also I want to use the 10.5 x 7.5 kHz on the land coin and jewelry hunting. Although I suspect the 6 inch DD coil will be used most of the time. I want to have the best two all around accessory coils in addition to my 9 inch x 7.5 concentric coil. Do you think the 6 inch HF DD coil and 10.5 MF DD coils are my best choices? Like I said I can't wait to get my hands on those double d's!

I True Relic Hunter, Since I switched to 10.5DD 7.5 Freq. coil over six month ago its hands down my best choice for depth ground coverage and and super stable, handle lot different tuple's. For Land hunting It hard to beat, On Beach I could tell you.

I don't think I've read one bad report on any of the Xterra's DD coils. Except maybe for it picking up bottle caps. Have you had any problems with bottle caps? Thanks for the reply by the way.

Since I mounted that 10.5 7.5khz on my x-terra 30, I never took it off. Like said before it is super stable, and even in my fields, I can crank sens. up to 10 in many cases.

Thats the one I use primarily on my 70, the hi freq DD coil. Ive used it on wet sand at the ocean and had waves come across it with no falsing at all. You have to set it up like minelab suggests which is in beach mode and I use tracking since the ground varies so much in the wet stuff. Sens is usually good for me at 15 and Ive had places where I can get it to 17 but thats it. The 70 will let you know right away if the sens is to high.
I found a thin mens wedding band, 14k, about 8" down with it and had a solid lock on signal and tone. The numbers run higher on my hi freq coil, not sure if others are the same way but say a quarter, that would be 44 or even 46.
I have had problems inland with the bottlecaps, mostly with the medium freq large DD coil as they will come in at 40 or 42 with a steady tone and number. Ive been told to switch over to prospecting mode and check the target with that, which I will next time I use that coil.
For some reason on the beach I dont have the problem, its just in the darker dirts the detector gets fooled on bottlecaps. I usually run tracking for awhile then switch over to fix in dirt that is pretty much the same. The darker dirts have a GB number in the low 20s around here, thats where the detector balances out at.

Both of the larger DD coils work well and get deep.
