The cornfield across the road started popping and the horses in the pasture thought it was snow and they froze to death. Cabin fever I guess

Its so dry here that it would be easier to dig through the concrete. I don't think you could squeeze a drop of water out of an acre of land around here.

Here in Nebraska (and several other states) there is massive crop failure. Sure, most of the farmers have crop insurance so they will not lose any money.
And what does get harvested... well a lot of that goes to making ethanol here. Good Lord, food should never be used for fuel.
The price of food is going to skyrocket.
And while we buy our food and complain about the prices...

overseas in third world countries (and others) millions will die of starvation. They DEPEND on our food exports to them.

Yep the rain we started getting last week was just too late to save the corn and beans, pretty much all failure here too

Misery, I mean Missouri concrete clay, east central area 40 miles west of STL off Hwy70 No rain for the past 7-8 wks in this area. Maybe 1 inch since mid may.

Here is a pic of a cornfield about a mile from my house... bad news!

Looks like November at harvest time but it is July.

We just started to get rainy days out in WNY

But only parts get them and it was our turn in Erie County this past week, I can dig in the ground again but No Silver yet!

My dryland corn is pretty much gone. We're running out of pasture for the cattle, and we've still got 3 more months to last on them. I'm gonna start crunching the numbers next week and see if and how many we need to sell to get by. My hay crop is pretty good though and I've got some irrigated beans that are doing real good. Hay prices are astronomical, so that should make up some for the corn.

By the way I went to milk the cow and all I got was

It's so hot here, that I saw a dog carrying a jug with a funnel attached to it.............

Yes, we just got some rain here in the Northeast.
Wanted to get out tonight, but it was storming bad.
But, hopefully tomorrow for a bit.

Was tooo dry to dig for quite a while.

I got a friend, here in Virginia that is selling all his livestock because he believes the price of corn based feed will be out of his reach this winter. Thoughts?
I hate it for you guys and gals in the mid west.
:stretcher:

Here is Virginia, it's been hot as well, but nothing compared to the Midwest. Hope you guys and gals get some rain and heat relief soon.
