Came up a solid 80 on vdi, no if ands or buts about it. Read as a dime in best data as all my silver rings have.

Wow Greg! Congratulations! Nice find. I still have not found a ring. I have found some kiddie (junk) jewelry, but nothing to write home about.

I am getting better with my XLT. I took it to a football field and hunted where the high schoolers sit during game time. I was out for about 2.5 hours and found $3.45 in clad. Since I got my detector back in March, I have found a little less than ten bucks. I notice lately, that I am understanding the tones and detector a bit better. Well, congrats again.

$3.45 is nothing to laugh about! That is a very good amount for one day!!:clapping: Great work! My average days are only around $3-3.50, so you did well. Of course I do have a lot of above average days too, makes up for the bad ones. Well it sounds like you found a great place to hunt! <<<<Plan more trips there! Good luck!

Congratulations Gregg,

Really nice find. There is nothing in the picture to give a size reference but it looks big. Is it a large ring?

I have found silver rings with VDI readings from silver quarter all the way down to screw cap. In fact, the largest silver ring I have found read as a screw cap. While I was digging I expected to see a screw cap and was actually very surprised when the huge oddly designed mass of silver popped out of the ground. And, I have found quite a few very small rings in the zinc penny range. Even zinc penny signals can sometimes have a silver lining.

About the time I think that I have something completely figured out about detecting someting happens that blows a hole through my theory. But, that is part of the beauty of detecting ...... it ain

My silver rings 3 this year have all shown up vdi wise on the dfx as dimes almost all dead on 80. This one is a mans ring just a tiny bit small on me. The forth ring I found, which was my first this year was a (8 grams) gold ring, came up in nickel/pull tab/junk area...a solid 24. < I would not have dug that signal but I was leaving and playing around with tone id and beach mode when I got lucky, 4.5 inches down on a baseball field. The silver St Christopher pendant and silver bracelet I found also have shown up in the vdi area of 80/dime. The only Sac dollar (just before New Years) i found came up bouncing from 83-84(quarter) to the 90's in the dollar coin range.

Thanks Greg...It was my best day ever. I returned to my son's school last night and only found about 25 cents. I didn't have long to hunt though. Thanks for your comments.
