It's round like a button and has a image on it, but:shrug:

My first thought was it's a button but the back seems to indicates otherwise. It VIDs (#29) as a nickel but weighs about a gm more. It's not flat but concave and appears to be made of a non-ferrous metal such as pewter.

There a 12 stars surrounding what appears to me as a woman reclining on the lower portion of the letter "V". :help:

Thanks for looking.

Its hard to tell from a pic, but it sure looks like there may have been something attached to the back. Is it just shadows?
Hope you find out what it is, Knarfi.

A naughty item from yesteryear? A big "V" with a woman reclining makes me wonder? :nono:

I'm sure there was something attached to the back and it appears it was meant to stay put, as its built pretty solid. Here's another image for a better view.

 I suppose it could be but my thoughts, or hopes, were that it might be some form of Victory button that might have been worn after WW1 or WW2. Possibly in the form of a tie clasp. It very much reminds me of the type of logo/artwork one would have seen painted on the side of many of the large bombers that flew during WW2.

Thanks for your thoughts.

I see what dmckee17 sees, heading to a spread eagle. But that image could be imaged or just a coincidence or an anomaly of sorts.

The image of a woman was what I first thought too, when I saw it last night. If that long narrow rectangle on the back is recessed, a hinged pin could of been attached to it at one time. Which would also explain how it got lost. The button portion came off, but the pin stayed on the clothing/hat.
