It's really coming down...snow falling as fast as our 401K!!

I dropped Brian off for school and then went and had coffee with my parents before going to work. Rain was supposed to fall all day and then turn to an occasional snow shower overnight. By 9:30am the light rain had turned to big, beautiful snow flakes the size of quarters and falling so thick visibility was reduced to a hundred yards or so. I wasn't worried since the ground was warm and I knew they would melt. Well, my prediction was as accurate as the weatherman's (should I become a meteorologist?) as the snow started piling up in the yard and on cars and fences and trees and...the streets! (as I write this it is still snowing, but the flakes are smaller).

At 10:30 the cell phone rang and it was Brian..."Come pick me up because some students are already going home." The roads were covered with snow, especially the back roads but the only scare I has was when my big van started sliding down a big hill towards a stoplight at a busy intersection. The roads with more traffic were slushy and I was able to pick up Brian and get him back home safely. (12 miles). The interstates weren't too bad at all. Carol is a couple of miles away at work and Sarah is 25 miles away at school. I called work to let them know that I might be a little late since I might have to pick them up and my boss told me not to worry about coming in because they would probably close early anyway. They just announced on the radio that all the schools are officially closed and many area colleges too. It now looks like this could last a couple of more hours according to the radio. It sure is beautiful. Unfortunately, I won't be able to get out and get any pictures though.

Brian's tumors are really growing and the pain in his face is getting worse and worse. He has a hard time sleeping at night when the pain meds start wearing off. We are going back to Nashville Feb 11th to hopefully schedule another tumor reduction surgery to try to relieve some of his pain. He has only missed one day of school since starting back and that was last Friday after being up all night in pain. Needless to say, none of us are getting enough sleep. But, that is the way it is and we have learned to take cat naps during the day, sometimes while driving to work, so we are adjusting to the situation.

Brian is hungry so I need to get off of here and feed him. Hope all of you have a wonderful day and I am keeping up with and praying for all of the requests, even though I don't always post replies.

God bless,

The south will be at a stand still! Wally World wil be emptied out! What will you folks do!
Let me tell you about the cold white stuff!
Just kidding bro!
You guys are always in my prayers.

Hi Doug,

We had sleet, freezing rain and the white stuff was somewhere around 6 inches more or less! The ice was really bad the farther South the bad weather went! Hope you get to enjoy the cold, white flakes from inside and not out driving in it too much! :)

Still praying for Brian and for God to be compassionate and loving to Brian, so he won't be hurting and suffering like he is!
God Bless! Betty
