What I found was that the COIN and Jewelry mode mode is better by at least an inch over the relic mode.
What I did was had a quarter out at some 8 inches in Relic mode, Zero disc dialed in and near max sens.
Using a wooden ruler to measure with, I was able to get a reading at say 8 inches. I didnt expect any difference in Coin mode BUT I did and it was much stronger by at least an inch.
Nothing else was changed, just modes.
So I figured maybe a nickel would be favored by the relic mode, BUT the same results.
I will take an extra inch like this anytime.
Anyone else note this in your testing/learning the mxt?

You DIDN'T use a wooden ruler with a metal s#####aight edge did you? <IMG SRC="/metal/html/unsure.gif" BORDER=0 width=18 height=18 ALT="u~">

good point Art, but no cigar on that one.
Try it and see if the same happens at your end.

But so far, no dice. If it works, fine. If not, THEN she'll try something else.
She tells me that THAT is why she "lets" me on the forums...to find out things FOR HER!!! <img src="/metal/html/lol.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":lol">

Tony,
When you get it out to the accual hunting site you will have to try it on accual targets that are there and see what you think. I find in the feild i feel I can get better depth, or know there is a good target there in relic mode over the coin mode.Try it some time on a accual deep target in both mode and see what you think, maybe it is just me to as I can hear the relic mode better.

Just thought I'd share the news on what I see/hear on the table top. If you get a chance, see if you notice the same thing in air testing, I am curious. Maybe its only an indoor scenario?
I hope to get out a bit today and give it a try.
The MXT is doing very well.
Thnx
Tony

with my first MXT. The 2nd MXT was about an even draw. Prior to buying my first MXT I made use of a few from various dealer friends and I recall that the first two I used when checking them out seemed to hunt a little deeper in the Relic mode, by about an inch
