It was a bit frosty in the water. Gone is the wet-suit, in with the chest waders. Earlier in the week, some places got a foot of snow south of where I live. I was wondering what the lake conditions would be like today???

As I got closer, there was snow on the side of the roads......could be COLD!

Ahhhh! No snow on the beach, no ice in the water, just a couple hundred of Canadian Geese resting/feeding, before they head south and crap in my neighbors down south.

The water was cold on the deeper levels, but fine in the shallow stuff. All my 4 rings came from the deep water. Here is the good, the bad and the ugly. Just about a dollar in change.

And the BEST!

Finished off the day by building a fire and roasting some hot-dogs. Man......what a great day! I wish it could be autumn all year round. :)

Interesting account of your treasure hunting day and the pictures of the landscape are gorgeous! In the picture that includes everything....to the right of the screw is a piece of broken pendant of some type. That's not gold?

That inscribed gold ring with the blue stone would have made my day. Great finds.

Your seasonal foliage and weather seems much more advanced (closer to winter) in Western Canada. Temps are still in the high teens, low twenties in the afternoons in my neck of the woods.

We have had some snow twice so far this year, but warm days soon followed. That snow is good to kill the mosquitoes, black flies and tics. Other then skiing, I don't really have much use for it.

Nicely done John. Now if you would just share a teeny bit of that cooler weather with us down here in the South. I went to the beach on Tuesday. Arrived as it was just beginning to get light. Stepped out of the car and thought that I was in a sauna. Very warm and high humidity which only got words as the morning progressed. After 3 hours I was so exhausted that it took me half an hour to get back to the car. The heat and humidity beat me to a pulp.
