Somebody just posted a lost 24k heavy bracelet on the local CL lost and found...they THINK they lost it on Jan 19th or maybe the 20th and listed nearly a dozen different stores, Malls, restaurants, etc. where they THINK they might have lost it...if they dropped it in the parking lot, its been plowed up into the Snowpile! Heres a pic from Feb 1st from up here..Anyway, those trashy snowpiles have a good possibility of holding some gold..

Time to rent an industrial snow blower mud!!!! I hate it when people say they think, maybe, perhaps they lost some valuable item at a mall or ladies bathroom or a public place like a parking lot a long time ago etc;. Also, when you ask them "so when did you loose it"? "Oh....last year or something like that"!:stars:
I've been looking for 2 valuable items that people have said they lost in a general area where there's a slim chance they might still be there but realistically, unless they give you specifics that you can work with, I say continue on detecting in other fruitful ground....or sand!!:detecting:

Ya, im afraid that is the same thing as saying "we have no idea where we lost it" although if your travels take you to any of those mall parking lots i guess it couldnt hurt to cruise by the melting snow piles... needle in a haystack thingy....

No shortage of interesting finds in snow piles . . Hope the right person finds that bracelet.

Strolling through parking lots as the snow piles melt is a great idea!! Maybe find a set of car keys, coinage, paper bills, ring(s), even 24k bracelets!

Yeah, so much trash you nearly gotta hunt by eye and use the detector as a secondary device..even on this big 24k bracelet...it would be a tough signal in the best of circumstances let alone in a snowpile full of trash...good thing is most asphault parking lots dont have any rebar, so a fellow can use the rig to pick through the gravel and dust to assist with no trouble..still, its a time sensitive eyeball game really....

Too bad this person has no idea of the 'Where and When' the lost took place...I bet this thing was either eyeballed in less than 24hrs, or its lost to the ages in the scrapyard at the edge of the parking lot..

Going by the information that was provided by the person who lost the bracelet,a detector would not be the best way to find it.

One of these may help

No Kidding Mega!

That poor dumb dope wrote up a lengthy speculative summary of their remembered travels during an alleged time where they figured they lost the thing...as if a guy who wore a 24k heavy would not know immediately if it was missing? For all we know, he took it off in a drunken stupor and put it in with his socks!

Thing is, CL 'lost and found' sure gives us an insight into what Humans are up to now a days, and how their travel patterns have morphed into ashphalt and restaurants...Like any good crocodile, I need to know where the wildebeast migration routes are this year.....Theres more gold lost in parking lots than anywhere else now a days....on account of people are lazy and dont recreate outdoors much anymore, most modern folks feet never leave the hardpan, just watch and ask around...Chain wearers of this 24k magnitude are few!....a great excersize is to try to spot anybody wearing a great big gold chain out in public..you get the drift? Pretty hard to see one, let alone FIND one!!

The bummer for us is, hunting parking lot trash is no fun, really doesnt take any 'skill' other than timing, and theres a lot more people seeing you doing it, calling out epithets and throwing shid atcha! 'hey you old bum!"

Humans travel patterns have changed...they do lose GOLD in parking lots...and like any big croc, I will go invisible, roll on in there without creating a wake, hold my breath and try to get my share, no matter how fetid the territory...after all, a guys gotta eat...

This kinda reminds me of a hunt a friend and I did once for a lost gold ring through LostMyStuff. The ad said 10x10 area of yard leafs. The yard was covered with leafs and we were informed it wasn't a simple 10x10' area. The owners said it coulda been lost in the front yard, in the back yard, across the alley at a neighbors, or even at WalMarts.

We started in the front yard and huddled up early and agreed we'd give it an hour or so since it wasn't just 10x10. Luckily it was in the front yard. That bracelot in the snow sounds lost forever.
