Got the AT Pro this morning, and will take her out for a spin this afternoon...will be sure to post ALL my finds for the day...going to a place I have hunted to death over the past 5 years...
I want to test it on familiar ground to start...Will be interesting to see what I have missed in the iron infested field or bottle caps...

HH,

ya fooled me,, i thought that you had received a new GOLD,, as i have a shipping notice on mine. left florida today,, i should get it monday.

It will probably be a gold pull tab:super:It make me happy to see you guys helping the economy, by buying American made products. I`m doing my part. Keep up the good work, and post those finds with GOLD:detecting:

If I ever found out my Garrett was Chinese...I would burn it at the stake......lol...

Took her out for about an hour and hunted in Pro Zero mode with Iron DISC at 30...Iron audio as needed, SENSE at 6 (I kept it low to start). GB was higher than I expected unless I am doing it wrong...It was about 85...I live in NY, and although there is a ton of limestone and brine wells in my area, I did not expect it to be that high...I was using the Stock DD coil...I was HIGHLY impressed by the target separation...the first thing I hit was where they set up the beer tent for the field days they hold in this field each August...The bottle caps were still visible on the surface, and some had sunk to about 2 inches or more...It was a jungle, but the AT Pro was slicing through them like a hot knife through butter and finding the coins...My White's would have never been able to find em...Even with the SENS turned down, I was digging dimes at 8+ inches...the Iron audio was a gift from heaven, and bottle caps made their own little special chirping sound (unmistakable).
All in all, I have a long way to go in learning this new language known as the AT Pro Audio, but so far, I like it a lot...can;t wait to get her in the water...I want to do it before Kellyco's 14 day return policy is up...That way if I have a leaker, I can get an exchange...The only gripe I have so far is that my detector appears to be made for someone who swings left handed...the coil jack is on the left, and the headphone jack on the right...I swing right handed, and the headphone coil having to go under or over the detector seems just backwards...Hope they change this in the future...
Also, do you folks leave your AT Pros assembled, or do you break em down after use? I would think you would not want to keep unplugging the coil and headphones to preserve the life of the seals...

HH,

Well, after siting down and reading the manual thoroughly, I found I WAS doing the Ground Balance wrong...I failed to hold the button while pumping the coil...I just pushed it, let it go, and pumped the coil...Will have to do it right today...

HH,

Greetings from Italy!

And my compliments for your finds! Being an owner of the ATP for about two weeks i want share my impressions too.

I've tested the ATP in two very littered spot which are truly undetectable by my main machine, a Sovereign GT (used mainly on the shore and in the surf, i live by the sea). The amount of bottle caps in the first spot and rusted nails and bits of iron wire in the second spot, simply caused the GT to be on threshold null for most of the time. The ATP seems to "glide" in these environment, separating very well the good target from iron. I think it out-performs by more than a measure the detector I've traded in exchange of my new ATP, a Minelab X-Terra 705 which is even a more expensive machine.

I'm very happy with the ATPro and is become my main land machine... but i will give it a try on the beach one of these days, ... i know a spot which is full of bottle caps...keep you informed!
