On Palm Sunday we had our first Easter concert led by our new Worship Pastor. (great guy) Actually we did it twice; at 4 and 6:30. Both were packed and it went really well. Many new faces as lots of people were invited by those that regularly attend. What a blessing it was!
Then we had a Maundy Thursday service; something started last year by our new Senior Pastor. It was just incredible. He's a very gifted teacher of the Word.
Saturday night was kind of a historic day for the church. A couple of years ago, we bought some property a few miles from our church. There was a Perkins restaurant on the property and they renovated the building. All new offices and a real nice contemporary sanctuary. Last year, some additional property next to our property became available. (that's nothing short of a miracle as property is hard to find and super expensive). We now have almost 5 acres of land on a very busy main street. Eventually, we're going to sell our church building and build a bigger sanctuary on the property (500-1000 seats?). Only the Good Lord knows where the millions are going to come from but we've taken a step of faith. So far we've been able to keep up with all the payments every year. Well, Saturday was the first of weekly services in the new place. They had done a mailing in the new neighborhood and put a sign out front about the service but had no idea how many might show (new, first time goers). Well, there were over 240 people there and between 30 and 50 who were not from our church!
Yesterday, Easter Sunday was a marathon day We always have 3 services so we can accommodate all the people. Every service was packed! Many people who attended Saturday night for the first time were there yesterday. Our worship team was on yesterday so we ministered in music at all 3 services. I was sure tired when I got home but couldn't really nap at all. I just had too much music in my head... "My Redeemer Lives" kept playing over and over
God is doing some incredible things in our church. Just want to praise Him for that!
