It's been quite a May!

I'm still kinda in shock, but here are my best finds from May, besides the usual clad and trash. All of these finds were in local parks found with the Ace250. Needless to say it was a heckuva month! It first started two weeks ago when I found this 14K two-toned white and yellow gold band with 7 diamonds. Happy dance time ... Fit's me well, so it's a keeper!

About 5 days later I found this platium ring (2nd one I've ever found) with what appeared to be 2 tapered cut baguette diamonds (1 on each side). I took it to a local jeweler and sure enough they tested to be diamonds. They told me that they appeared to be custom cut and made for the setting, and were larger than normal. Matter of fact they were bigger than any they had in thier catalogue. They could only give a guess, but they figured they were probably worth about $350-$400 a piece (retail). The platium band, if the prongs were not not broken was about a $1400 setting (retail). And yes, I DID look all over in the hole for the missing main stone!! But no luck.. I am most likely going to spend a few hundred to have the setting repaired, replace the main stone, and give it to my wife. After the repairs and stone replacement my guess is it should appraise at around $2500

The following night I went out again and found this 14K white gold band. And thought..my god, what a month!

Then last night I went for another hunt, just plugging along in a park I've been to many times and out pops this 10K gold ring with what appears to be a dark blue sapphire! Very pretty ring! Another definite keeper.

As for some of the rest, here are the junk rings I found as well as a few pewter pieces.

I'm still stunned from all this. I think May is going to be a tough month to beat....

Thanks for looking ... Ron

I'll Say! This should lay to rest any claims that the Ace 250 is just a kid's starter machine. You had a Great month of May! Congratulations.

Jerry

OK. I hate you. You stink. I'm super jealous.

I was just looking over my May totals and they stink. Lots of clad. Not much jewelry. Not many silver coins. I guess in fairness one of my detectors was in the shop for 2 weeks and it did rain for 12 straight days.

You really do stink, you know?

Chris

PS GREAT FINDS!!!!!!!!!

PPS I would have taken all the dirt from the hole home with me and washed it all away. (Of course I would have replaced the dirt first.)

Thanks for all the comments! I think it will be a long time before I have another month like that (if ever).

Chris: I've been jealous of your posts many times. You're a clad hauling machine along with the other goodies you find.

Great month! Beautiful gold and platinum rings - even your junk rings look good. I agree with cwilk...if you can find that exact spot again, I go back with a large bag of dirt and take away possible 'diamond bearing' dirt. Great finds.

Lots of bang for the buck...Garretts do like gold jewelry and my thoughts are larger block facets containing more numbers are having hunters becoming less selective and digging the ones the selective guys miss. Sort of dig more to find more and for you are a prime example with a super May...Probably the least expensive with the most facets on the market and for you fellows compaining of the bong-bong when swinging straighten out your swing and turn the sens. down as it really helps..

Great finds man !! I can't believe the run you are having so far this year. I'm looking forward to you guys coming up next month so we can go head to head in my territory. If you start pulling rings like that around here though, you may be coming home late for supper... Just kidding (He's my Brother folks). Keep up the gold streak. Sometimes you make me want to switch back to my ace 250 but I don't think the Pro would like that, and she's been very good to me.

Talk to ya / see ya soon,

Chris
